Heritage Story
This saree was woven by our master weaver Ramesh Ji, whose family has practiced the art of Banarasi silk weaving for six generations. The Katan silk used here is the purest form — tightly twisted mulberry silk threads that create a crisp, lustrous fabric. The gold zari threads are genuine — wrapped around a core of silver and coated with gold. This saree took 45 days to complete on a traditional pit loom.

How It's Made
First, the design is transcribed onto graph paper by a naqsha maker. Then punched cards (similar to Jacquard cards) are created to guide the loom. The weaver sits in a pit below the loom, working with feet and hands simultaneously. Genuine gold zari — made of silver wire wrapped with real gold — is woven in by hand where the pattern requires it.
